Music Together Teacher Training Workshop, June 19 – 21st

Music Together Picture 1

A couple of months ago, I told you about a FREE Music Together Workshop that was being held on the Plaza.

For those not familiar, Music Together is an early childhood music program for babies, toddlers, preschoolers and their grownups, that is taught in over 2000 communities around the world at independently licensed centers. They follow these basic principals (which I love and so believe):

And as I have told you before, the Snyder Family are HUGE fans of the arts. While most families push their kids into organized sports, mine are pushed into organized Arts and Music. My kids take private art classes, DS is playing the trumpet, and DD will be taking piano and voice lessons in the fall. It isn’t that I’m against sports (my kids still do those too), but I believe there are many life skills that can be learned through arts that will help them in their careers later on in life.

In addition to my believe that arts can play a huge role in the development of kiddos, I am also a HUGE fan of talented Moms being about to make some extra money without having to commit to a full-time job (that may or may not showcase their talents.) Music Together is a way for mothers to earn a little extra income while embracing the arts with their kiddos.

Music Together will be holding a three-day teacher training workshop on June 19 – 21st in Lawrence, KS.

Workshop participants will learn Music Together’s successful, research-based approach to teaching music and movement to children ages birth through seven, and how parents can support children’s music development from birth. Participants who successfully complete the training will be eligible to teach Music Together’s family or preschool classes, either at an existing Music Together center or by applying for a license to open and operate their own Music Together locations.

In addition to the training, this workshop will also provide opportunities to assess children’s rhythmic and tonal development; learn techniques for presenting musical material; and create strategies for lesson planning. There will be live early childhood music demonstration classes on each day of the workshop, teaching children and their parents using the Music Together curriculum. Here is more infor
